Overview

United Holdings is now hiring Purchasing Supervisor 10750 Telge Rd. Houston, TX 77095.

Supervise all procurement activities in support of all business units. Develops, coordinates, and supports strategic procurement operations.  Supervises and supports Buyers in all daily activities, including buying decisions, and technology needs. Analyzes changes or new issues in materials and supply to reduce costs and improve quality and overall value.

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage team of Buyers emphasizing personal development and leadership initiatives and support target achievements.
  • Responsible for oversight of purchasing for major equipment and fabricated items for the
  • Manage all incoming data to help ensure Buyers are given the best possible information to make good buying decisions.
  • Coordinates and resolves issues regarding existing and new products.
  • Monitors supplier performance and assists in efforts for improvement in delivery, cost and quality.
  • Studies and investigates purchasing methods and recommends alternative goods of parts and processes when needed.
  • Recommends new or revised procurement procedures.
  • Oversee purchasing supply plan activities, guiding buyers on risk management and coordinating closely with planning and scheduling for alignment.
  • Participates in efforts to reduce inventory and supports goals to improve cash flow.

Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Project management expertise: able to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience collaborating with executive management and cross-functional teams.
  • Customer-focused while adhering to company procedures.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • CPM-Certified Purchasing Manager or CPSM-Certified Professional in Supply Management or CPIM-Certified in Production and Inventory Management preferred.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to maintain current and thorough knowledge of all applicable processes and equipment is required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS     

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, climbing, crawling, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs frequently; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear PPE as required.

 

 

OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the position, location, and/or customer
